The Group is present in 15 countries with over 900 stores and turnover in excess of $3.2 billion USD. The company is currently successfully expanding with annual growth rate of 25%. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: The successful candidate will be responsible for overall business management of the assigned brand and will ensure the development, implementation and management of brand business plans to maximize sales and profits. The Brand Manager will also be responsible for co-strategizing with the Brand principal to ensure effective brand communication and penetration with the Region KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: BRAND GROWTH AND PROFITABILITY • Maximize sales and profitability of brand stores in line with Company targets and Contractual obligations • Optimize sales potential through effective use of available commercial information for the brand stores • Develop the brand launch strategy (for new territory) in consultation with the Concept Head • Discuss the annual brand strategy (for existing territory ) with the Territory Head and Territory Concept Head • Control costs within budgetary guidelines for the brand stores • Maximize productivity in stores thorough effective deployment of resources for the brand stores • Ensure complete sell through as per brand product, style and assortment plans (basic, Fashion, woman wear etc) • Collect feedback from Territory on Brand acceptance and customer expectations • Ensure adherence to financial plan in all key areas – sales, markdowns, margin & average inventory etc • Monitor the sales performance on a regular basis and prepare a corrective action plan if required BRAND MERCHANDISE PLANNINIG AND PRODUCT SELECTION • Prepare annual plans for the brand and provide inputs to Concept GM/CEO to assist creation of overall merchandizing budget for concept • Study merchandise requirements for assigned brand by setting sourcing triggers based on actual sales, sales forecasts, company order parameters, inventory checks, forthcoming events, replenishments needs etc • Monitor Concept merchandise MIS analytics based on actual sales, sales forecasts, company order parameters, inventory checks, forthcoming events, replenishments needs etc • Monitor creation of merchandise plan for the brand based on insights gained from merchandise analytics, customer preference, historical trends and future outlook • Discuss, decide and freeze the merchandise plan (pricing, promotion, assortment etc) for the Brand with the Merchandise Planning department • Determine buying requirements and formulate buying plan and budget for the assigned Brand • Conduct Product selection keeping in mind the buying requirements and product research/ inputs received • Ensure effective in season management across territories (stock balancing, markdown management, stock analysis, stock vs. sales performance) ORDER AND PRINCIPAL MANAGEMENT • Maintain relationship with all principals and co-strategies, as it is critical for the long term success of the business • Review the financial and credit services agreement with the principal in order to maximize profit and positively contribute to cash flow • Monitor orders based on the buying plan and follow-up to ensure merchandise delivery as per the plan based on the agreed service level agreement BRAND STANDARDS • Understand the Brand Standards (retail operations, staff, customer service, product specifics, visual merchandising) from the Brand principal • Obtain brand manuals and ensure implementation of the retail and customer service standards to result in customer delight within brand outlets • Create the overall strategy and guidelines for various aspects of customer service at the stores in consultation with the Principal • Prepare process flowcharts for brand processes and effective brand management • Support in training & assessing the staff in the brand stores using the best training / assessment procedures in consultation with the Brand Trainer / Principal Trainer • Coordinate with Retail Auditor/ Retail Operations to collate the feedback on retail and brand operations • Plan and develop the Visual Merchandising calendar for the Brand in consultation with the VM Manager and Brand Principal • Ensure implementation of the Brand Visual Merchandising calendar and strategy MARKET AND COMPETITION RESEARCH • Acquire market intelligence through various sources & analyze trends which may impact the business • Research the brand acceptance within the region or any new territory, and identify any inputs on brand customizations required • Map competition prices / product and provide qualitative inputs to the business • Research and look at new sites for brand outlets • Research on the latest trends in products, brands, styles, designs, fits etc PROJECTS & ADMINISTRATION • Support the Territory team in deciding locations / site for brand stores • Evaluate the selected site on parameters like trade area, customer base, additional merchandising considerations and get internal approvals • Co-ordinate for new store openings and re-fits with territory operations • Ensure brand outlet locations are in line with the Brand strategy and positioning • Ensure the adherence to the store opening plan MARKETING • Create the brand positioning in consultation with the Marketing Manager and Brand principal • Plan marketing programs for the brands, along with the Marketing Manager and Brand principal, in line with the Concept guidelines • Ensure campaign promotions / events/ marketing communication are implemented according to guidelines and that local/ seasonal promotional opportunities are identified and maximized • Ensure adherence to brand marketing budget LOGISTICS • Monitor and review if merchandise is received on time and delivered to RDC/ Stores as per plan • Ensure logistics process control and efficiency within the concept PEOPLE MANAGEMENT • Manage and support recruitment • Monitor staff development and facilitate complaint resolution • Set KRA’s for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal and feedback • Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation levels of the direct reports ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Degree or Diploma in Fashion / Textiles • Post-graduate degree in Business Administration • Minimum 6-8 years experience in similar role • 5 years in retail industry I buying or brand management role • Fluent English •
